Let’s Add the Toothfairy to the Mix, Shall We?

Not that I’m feeling wierd enough about all this Santa charade we’re carrying on, but now Jake lost his front tooth and the Tooth Fairy is going to get in on a bit of the action around here!

That tooth had been dangling from his gums for 2 days before a wrestling match with Joey finally set it free.  Jake beamed with pride all day that he lost his front tooth.  The guy looks like a jack-o-lantern – a cute jack-o-lantern at that.  At bedtime last night, I reminded Jake to put his tooth under his pillow.  He couldn’t find it so I had him write a note to the TF that he lost a tooth.  He taped it to his headboard for her to see.  Last time she came, Jake woke up with a nasty bloody nose.  I commented to him that maybe the Tooth Fairy accidently fell on his nose and did he feel anything wierd during the night?   Jake is also the kid who tried putting his tooth under his pillow for a second night to see if he could rake in another buck.  Instead of cash, he got a note telling him not to mess with Fairies…  Words of Wisdom that should come in handy for many years.

When Joey knocked his front tooth out in a bike spill, he had to write a note to the TF explaining that his tooth got lost in some grass.  The TF wrote a note back telling him that a lot of kids try to get money from her by leaving notes saying they lost teeth when they really didn’t.  She told him that she climbed up and opened his mouth during the night and used her little flashlight to look inside to see that he really had lost his tooth.  And she was glad he didn’t try playing any tricks on her.

Nothing like instilling a little paranoia in your children.  That’ll teach a kid to sleep with one eye open.

  1. As a mother, you deserve kids that will try to get an extra buck from the TF, ask for an extra toy from Santa, and challenge your emotions daily.

    Love, your former boss

P.S. I’m addicted to your blog.

  2. So are you suggesting that I have taught them everything I know?
